Our 50th Year
A hands-on builder from project inception to completion, Wayne M. Gibson has spent most of his life in and around the building industry. He has been providing Raleigh-area residents with the finest quality homes possible for an extremely reasonable price since he formed the Wayne M. Gibson Building Corporation in 1979.
Building is in the Gibson family blood. With a father and three brothers who were professional carpenters, Gibson naturally turned to the construction industry after graduating from high school in Reidsville, North Carolina. He started his career as a laborer in 1959, became a framing contractor in 1960, and spent two years in residential sales before forming his own construction company.
Predominantly a single-family home builder, Gibson began his career by constructing entry-level homes. He quickly moved into the $150,000 market and is now primarily targeting homes in the $250,000+ price range. Although he has completed some light commercial projects, the vast majority of Gibson's work involves the design and construction of custom presold homes.
"You have to do what you do best," Gibson states, "and what I do best is design and build homes." Raleigh-area buyers obviously agree, as most of Gibson's projects are presales that occur from referrals. "People who buy my homes know that my houses are competitively priced with design and quality second to none. They can sense the fact that my homes reflect the idea that my motivation is to be excellent. They know the bronze signature plaque installed on each house is placed there with sincere pride."
